SHOOTING RANGE SOLUTIONS AT SHOT SHOW 2020

PROVO, UTAH – January 17, 2020 – Action Target Inc., the leading manufacturer of modern shooting ranges, will display new and revolutionary shooting range technology and services at SHOT Show 2020. Visit Action Target at booth #14568 for live, hands-on demonstrations.

“As a trusted partner at every stage of a range project, Action Target is constantly developing products and services that promote the success of our customers. We are excited to display a selection of our new and enhanced solutions at SHOT Show this year. A few of these products include SmartRange Axis range control software, the Genesis target retriever, Flame Lock fire retardant, new TAC House wall panels and a rubber trap cleaning program,” said Kevin Tomaszewski, Senior Vice President & General Manager at Action Target.

SmartRange Axis™
SmartRange Axis is a cutting-edge connected range control system. The user-friendly interface for SmartRange Axis makes it easy to control products as they can all be accessed from one screen. It also provides valuable data that will help ranges understand how to optimize business operations. Furthermore, the ability to create individual range staff accounts allows range owners to monitor who has access to the system. SmartRange Axis is directly connected to Action Target’s cloud network, allowing Action Target to send remote updates, diagnose and troubleshoot issues, and recover real-time data.

SmartRange Axis has been integrated with Action Target’s Genesis™ target retriever, Pilot™ target retriever and ventilation systems. It will continue to integrate with more range equipment and is set to become the fundamental building block for any successful range.

“SmartRange Axis demonstrates Action Target’s commitment to supporting the ever-evolving needs of the shooting range industry. By harnessing technology that makes our products smart and connected, we reduce costly range maintenance and provide range owners with valuable analytics,” said Jesse Nelson, Product Marketing Manager at Action Target.

Genesis™ Target Retriever
Action Target’s Genesis is the most advanced target retriever on the market and was developed to streamline system operation and revolutionize the shooter’s experience through enhanced target functions and control.

Genesis utilizes Action Target’s Strike Watch™, a patent-pending software that detects bullet impacts on the target carrier. Genesis also integrates with SmartRange Axis™, Action Target’s new range control system. This allows ranges to apply unique permissions to each lane, create and store shooting programs, manage lane time and run synchronized trainings across multiple lanes.

Genesis allows for dynamic target presentations, including teasing, spinning and timed exposures. A built-in camera displays the target on the control screen, eliminating the need to bring the target up-range for assessment. Furthermore, multiple lighting options and variable target carrier speeds (up to 15 feet per second) provide a highly customizable training environment.

Flame Lock™
Action Target’s proprietary Flame Lock™ intumescent paint may be applied to rubber bullet traps and ballistic panels to provide an ASTM-E84 and ASTEM-E108 Class A fire rating. Made of non-hazardous water-based material, Flame Lock dries quickly and offers immediate fire protection for rubber traps and walls.

“More than 90% of our Rubber Berm Trap customers choose to include fire retardant protection. Flame Lock is simply the most convenient and effective product available. It allows customers to properly protect their investment and is worth the peace of mind,” said Chris Hess, Product Marketing Manager at Action Target.

SureStop™ Rubber
Action Target’s SureStop™ Rubber blocks and panels encapsulate rounds, eliminate splatter, and prevent bullet ricochets in both indoor and outdoor live-fire applications. SureStop Rubber is comprised of a proprietary blend of carefully-selected media and specialty binders. Its optimal ballistic and acoustic properties have been rigorously tested and verified by external organizations.

SureStop products may be treated with Action Target’s proprietary Flame Lock™ intumescent paint for an ASTM-E84 and ASTEM-E108 Class A fire rating. SureStop is manufactured to ensure maximum adhesion of Flame Lock for safety and durability under extreme indoor and outdoor conditions.

“Action Target is excited to bring SureStop Rubber to market. Specifically engineered, SureStop’s performance is second to none. When stopping bullets and bullet splatter is crucial, our customers trust SureStop,” said Jesse Nelson, Senior Marketing Manager at Action Target.

TAC House – RD™
Action Target’s TAC House – RD™ (Rapid Deploy) is a new lightweight wall panel training system. Each wall panel is just a third of the weight of the original TAC House – HD. The TAC House – RD is built for use with Simunition FX™, Force on Force™ and Man Marker™ rounds and creates an ultra-realistic active shooter, urban assault or force-on-force training environment.

Boasting a tool-free assembly, the TAC House – RD is modular and can be customized as needed. Its fiberglass-reinforced panels, which are moisture and UV-resistant, are bonded to an ABS skeleton that contains fire retardant and smoke-reducing properties.

“TAC House – RD is durable, lightweight and half the price of other training wall systems, making it a superior option for force-on-force and other non-live-fire training curriculums,” said Chris Hess, Product Marketing Manager at Action Target.

Legion™ Steel Target System
The Legion Target™ was designed with the goal to be the strongest and most versatile hanging target system ever developed. The target system assembly relies on friction and gravity only. This eliminates maintenance downtime from easily-broken chains and bolts. Furthermore, it takes less than 60 seconds to set up or take down the system.

“The Legion target is a game changer. Customers can now create multiple dynamic shooting scenarios with one system.” said Jared Miller, Portable Steel Sales at Action Target.

Aftermarket Services
Action Target forms a true partnership with range customers by providing value throughout the life of a range. After the range build is complete, Action Target supports range customers with services such as metals recycling, rubber trap cleaning, filter disposal, and custom maintenance plans. Action Target also has an online store (shop.actiontarget.com) where customers can conveniently purchase the items they require to maintain their ranges and stock their retail stores.

“Action Target is committed to our customer’s success, not just when their range is new but for the life of their range. We have a large offering of innovative solutions for after-market services that will prolong the life and quality of our customer’s ranges.” Tyler Webster, Vice President & General Manager at Action Target,” said Tyler Webster, Vice President & General Manager at Action Target.

Structural Rubber Berm Trap
This advanced modular rubber berm trap adheres to the strictest building codes and may be free-standing or wall-mounted. Its patented features allow for simple maintenance and servicing. The rubber granules can also be treated with Flame Lock fire retardant.

Rubber Berm & Metals Recycling Program
Action Target’s Rubber Berm & Metals Recycling Program provides the simplest and most beneficial solution for recycling spent metals from rubber berm traps. Action Target will also provide ranges with documentation to verify metals have been recycled in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.

Members of the Rubber Berm & Metals Recycling Program may opt to be paid for their recycled metals in the form of a check or credit for Action Target’s online store (with a 15% bonus for customers who sign up at SHOT Show) or Action Target’s range maintenance services.

Range Security
Action Target combines all security solutions into one easy-to-use system that prevents incidents and reduces false alarms to less than 1% (a stark contrast to the industry-average false alarm rate of 90%). Trained security professionals review alerts 24/7 and the system’s advanced video analytics utilize an unmatched algorithm to provide accurate threat assessment. Furthermore, range owners may access the live camera feed and arm/disarm the system from anywhere via mobile device.

“Our security system is without question the most superior option for protecting your range. By integrating cutting-edge technology and industry-leading hardware, Action Target provides a tailored solution that is unmatched in the industry,” said Jesse Nelson, Senior Marketing Manager at Action Target.

Lighted Fixed Turning Target Stand
The Fixed Turning Target Stand (FTTS) is an ideal system for tactical training and shoot/no shoot scenarios. The electric version of the FTTS features full 360-degree target rotation as well as quiet functionality, making it difficult for shooters to anticipate when the target will turn.

The ground-mounted electric version of the FTTS includes optional LED target lighting. Red, white and blue strobes illuminate the target to enhance the authenticity of law enforcement training scenarios. Furthermore, the system’s all-weather design makes it possible to train in any climate.

AutoTargets
AutoTargets is an intelligently connected target system that accurately senses hits in up to four zones and records them on a powerful app. The target drops and lifts based on hit zones, score requirements, and time limits that are set on the app.

Action Target recently developed a revolutionary software for AutoTargets that enables instructors to program target presentation sequences and target knock-down requirements. It also allows users to generate valuable after-action summaries to improve training at the range. Furthermore, unique floor plans, images and maps can be uploaded to help instructors visualize target placement on the control screen.

BCS Deluxe 20
The BCS Deluxe 20 is a bullet collection system that integrates with the bullet deceleration chambers of Action Target’s Total Containment Trap™. The BCS Deluxe 20 utilizes a discharge hopper that funnels bullet fragments from the deceleration chamber into 20-gallon drums. For ease of replacement, the drums are situated on heavy-duty dollies and connect to the discharge hopper with quick-disconnect clamps. Additionally, a sight window incorporated in the drum lid allows range personnel to monitor the lead level inside the drum.

Previously, the Total Containment Trap™ only integrated with the BCS Basic 3, which collects lead in 3.5-gallon containers, and the BCS Auto 55, which is comprised of a screw conveyor that transports lead to a 55-gallon container. The new BCS Deluxe 20 significantly decreases the frequency for replacing bullet collection containers.

Action Target at SHOT Show

Yesterday was the very last day of SHOT Show 2014. It’s been a fun and eventful four days with range days, banquets, client meetings, new products, and plenty of giveaways. As it’s coming to a close, we’d like to thank everyone who stopped by. To those who weren’t able to make it, we hope to see you next year. Here’s a quick look at what happened for Action Target during SHOT Show 2014.

SHOT Show 2014 - 01

Action Target has been the official steel target of Industry Days at the Range (formerly Media Day at the Range) for several years and has donated more than 200 targets to SHOT Show to host the event. Each exhibitor is given a number of targets to use when demonstrating their firearms. Many bays were also equipped with paper and cardboard targets from Action Target’s subsidiary Law Enforcement Targets which is the official paper target of Industry Days at the Range.

SHOT Show 2014 - 11

Industry Days at the Range was a huge success in its first year as a two-day event. Members of the media were invited to the first day, and buyers were allowed to come on the second day to try out various firearms and systems.

SHOT Show 2014 - 16

The Action Target Industry Days at the Range Safety Award was presented to Adcore for the extra precautions they took to ensure every person who shot on their bay was fully briefed on range rules, emergency precautions, and gun etiquette. They also had eight combat medics on hand in case of an injury. In addition to the award, Adcore received credit toward the cost of next year’s spot at Industry Days at the Range.

SHOT Show 2014 - 19

Action Target went all out this year with a huge two-story booth that reached nearly 25 feet up tall.

SHOT Show 2014 - 21

One section of the booth included a shooting stall and target retriever setup featuring new stall designs from Action Target and innovative target retrievers from Action Target subsidiary Mancom Manufacturing. Current and potential clients were able to get a hands-on feel for what their own first-class shooting ranges could be with actual working equipment.

SHOT Show 2014 - 22

The first floor of the booth included TVs with education videos, places to sit and talk as well as a full wall of past performance examples.

SHOT Show 2014 - 23

The top floor of the booth included meeting areas where Action Target’s shooting range consultants could talk with their clients and discuss plans. A drafter was present in the booth to create custom range drawings there at the show allowing potential range owners to walk away feeling that their projects are one step closer to a reality.

SHOT Show 2014 - 24

The Action Target portable targets booth was just a stone’s throw away from the corporate Action Target booth. This year’s focus was on signing up dealers with the added benefit of free shipping for any order made at the show. The booth also featured a new pneumatic military target system and a sneak peek at the upcoming Action Target Military Strong steel target line.

SHOT Show 2014 - 18

The portable targets booth was hard to miss with giant cutouts of a shooter and PT Plate Rack extending beyond the 12′ backdrop. Several friends dropped by including Randi Rogers, Razor Dobbs, Texas Triggers, Rob Leatham, Fateofdestinee, Panteao Productions, and the Firearms Radio Network.

SHOT Show 2014 - 25

Law Enforcement Targets had a strong presence at the show with plenty of steel targets and a full rack of paper and cardboard targets.

SHOT Show 2014 - 26

Corporate partner Ti Training had a prominent position in the Law Enforcement Targets booth where they showed off their simulated training system that allows users to use real firearms that have been modified with a laser and compressed air system for realistic recoil.

Thank you to all of our friends and especially the NSSF for putting on yet another fantastic SHOT Show.

LETC 2013: A Week of Advanced Firearms Training

With so many lives on the line, proper law enforcement firearms instruction is absolutely crucial to any police department’s ongoing training efforts. That is why Action Target has hosted its Advanced Law Enforcement Training Camp (LETC) for more than 20 years. This September, from the 9th to the 13th, marks another year as law enforcement departments from across the country and the world meet at Action Target’s headquarters for unparalleled advanced firearms training.

SHOT Show Media Day’s 2013 ATI Safety Award Presented to EOTech

Executive Video Summary

SHOT Show Media Day at the Range logo

EOTech presented with award during SHOT Show for exceptional firearms safety practices during media event

LAS VEGAS – February 4, 2013 – SHOT Show Media Day at the Range announces EOTech as the recipient of the Action Target 2013 Media Day Safety award. This award is given to the media day exhibitor that holds to the highest standards of safety during the shooting event on January 14, 2013. Each exhibitor was judged by a panel of safety auditors who scored each exhibitor on firearms safety practices during the event.

EOTech had a perfect score on criteria such as eye and ear protection, ammunition and firearms control, etc. But EOTech went above the scored criteria by having their own range officer at the shooting station and first aid supplies ready for use in case of an emergency.

EOTech was awarded the trophy at the Action Target booth during SHOT Show by representatives of SHOT Show Media Day at the Range and Action Target.

“We consider range safety an essential part of every live fire event,” said Amy Miller, Media Relations Manager at EOTech. “It is our goal to be industry leaders in every aspect of our professional execution, and the range safety standards we practice are not exempt from that mindset. We make plans well in advance and review them to make sure we have eliminated any unsafe practices before we reach the line of fire.”

Action Target is recognized for developing innovative new firearms training technology and for having the experience to properly apply that technology to solve today’s safety issues on firing ranges all over the world.

“We have been a major supporter of Media Day at the Range for many years, and being the sponsor of the 2013 safety award is an honor for us,” said Chad Burdette, Portable Target Manager for Action Target.

In its seventh year, SHOT Show Media Day at the Range hosted more 120 exhibitors and 1,000 media members of the hunting and shooting industry. This award gave recognition to EOTech as an example of the importance of safely demonstrating products to the media on a live fire range.

“Live fire demonstrations are an essential part of explaining our products and technology,” Miller said, “and Media Day offers us the ability to put our products in the hands of over 1,000 of the industry’s leading writers and media personalities in an eight-hour period of time.”

EOTech was awarded a plaque for its exceptional firearms safety practices and given a free booth at next year’s SHOT Show Media Day at the Range.

YouTube Reviewers Talk Action Target’s Rimfire Steel

More than 2,000 members of the media showed up at SHOT Show to check out the newest products in the industry. Several of them dropped by Action Target’s booth for a look at the new Rimfire Steel Targets we released on January 15th. Here’s a look at some of the reviews.

Action Target Releases New Line of Rimfire Steel Shooting Targets

Executive Video SummaryAction Target announces seven new reactive steel targets designed for rimfire ammunition.

PROVO, Utah – Action Target is pleased to announce the release of a new line of steel targets specifically designed for .22 rimfire ammunition. The new Rimfire Steel product line includes seven reactive targets in addition to the rebranding of three existing targets (Rimfire Dueling Treecart Small, Rimfire Spinning Jackcart Small, and Rimfire Plate Rackcart Small).

This announcement comes in conjunction with the start of the 2013 SHOT Show in Las Vegas where the Rimfire Steel linecart Small is being debuted in Action Target’s exhibition booth.

“With the rise in ammo costs, we’ve been getting a lot of requests from customers for a greater variety of targets specifically designed for rimfire ammunition, so we decided to add an entire product line to meet the demand,” Chad Burdette, Action Target’s portable target product manager, said. “With the release of seven new products at once, this is our biggest launch ever, and there is no better place than SHOT Show to do it.”

The new targets in the Rimfire Steel product line include the Rimfire Rectanglecart Small, Rimfire Buffalocart Small, Rimfire Mini Gongcart Small, Rimfire Tactical Torsocart Small, Rimfire Hostagecart Small, Rimfire Tactical Hostagecart Small and Rimfire Bullseyecart Small.

The shooting surfaces of all the Rimfire Steel targets are made of through hardened 1/4″ AR500 armor steel, a slightly thinner version of the 3/8” AR500 armor steel Action Target uses to manufacture its handgun grade targets. While 1/4″ armor steel is capable of handling greater ammunition loads, the reactive portions of the targets (which are painted light blue) are engineered to function best with the force of .22 rimfire rounds.

“We wanted to set our Rimfire Steel line apart from other .22 targets,” Burdette said, “so we built them to last for years and added blue paint to create a signature look people can recognize.”

The Rimfire Steel product line gives customers access to the durability and quality design of Action Target steel targets at a lower cost with prices ranging from $45 for the Rimfire Spinning Jackcart Small to $165 for the Rimfire Bullseyecart Small to $225 for the Rimfire Plate Rackcart Small.

Those attending SHOT Show can receive free shipping on the Rimfire Steel line or any other portable target by ordering at Action Target’s exhibition booth. The new targets will also be available for purchase online starting Tuesday, Jan. 15.

Remington Wins 2012 Action Target Safety Award at SHOT Show

Now in its sixth year, the Media Day at the Range is the biggest media event in the world for the hunting and shooting industry and Action Target has been a supporter from the beginning. The Action Target Safety Award was created to acknowledge the Media Day exhibitor that fostered the highest level of firearms safety during the shooting event. Receiving the only perfect score among 70 fellow exhibitors, Remington Arms earned this year’s Action Target Top Safety Award.

Tactical Innovations was hired by Media Day at the Range to develop a scorecard and provide eight safety auditors to judge the 70 plus shooting exhibitors. The score was determined by basic safety criteria such as providing hearing and eye protection, controlling ammo, and safe handling of firearms on the firing line. The scorecard also awarded points for higher levels of safety such as posting rules, having a first aid kit at the shooting station, having a shooting coach at the station, and other necessary safety procedures.

Remington Arms was awarded the trophy at the Action Target SHOT Show booth during the first day of SHOT Show 2012. Not only did Remington win the trophy and bragging rights, but they received $3,500 toward next year’s fees. Congratulations to Remington Arms for a job well done!
