In addition to our other field range products, Action Target has created products designed to specifically need military training needs.
FITS – Field Infantry Target System™
Action Target’s FITS (Field Infantry Target System™) will forever change the way military small-arms ranges are designed, built, and serviced. Old-fashioned ranges relying on expensive, high-voltage electrical motors to move targets have been rendered obsolete by the revolutionary pneumatic systems presented here. Action Target introduced and has perfected this pneumatic technology, which harnesses the simple and efficient power of compressed air to move targets on the range.
The FITS system represents a perfect blend of technology, durability and simplicity. While it is powerful enough to provide hit sensors, automated scoring, and individual target control, it is simple enough to be inexpensive, reliable, and field serviceable. Furthermore, it is the only full-service system available through the GSA schedule.
Action Target’s MC-90 pneumatic powered actuators are far more durable and less complex than standard electric motors. The actuators are protected by the MC-90 Coffin, which also allows better concealment for training exercises. Reducing installation and maintenance costs by nearly half, the pneumatic power system also out-performs traditional electric systems through its use of durable control wires buried in trenches. The whole system can be controlled on a standard PC, allowing for a multitude of special options in creating custom training scenarios.
Range Control Tower™
Action Target control towers are sturdy command centers that provide comfort for your training officers and protection for your computer equipment. The weather-sealed, climate-controlled interior creates a practical and professional environment that allows training officers to conduct their training with greater safety and efficiency. The computer, printer and communication equipment located in the tower will also perform better and last longer because problems with sand, insects, small animals and temperature extremes are now eliminated.
Because we offer these towers as standard products, our manufacturing process is streamlined and efficient. The result is a structure that will meet your specific training needs at a lower price than traditional construction alternatives.
Above Ground Foxhole
A hole in the ground might be a good place during combat, but Action Target’s above-ground foxholes are a better place for training and qualification. With room for both the gunner and assistant gunner, the foxhole platform provides a safe and comfortable surface for all shooting positions. To switch from platform to foxhole shooting, simply remove the trap door. The foxhole can then be entered from above or from behind and the floor can be adjusted to accommodate different shooters.
Each foxhole is also equipped with a strong white floodlight, a red light for compatibility with night vision equipment, a loud speaker for training commands and a two-way intercom system for direct communication with the control tower. Because this above-ground approach eliminates traditional foxhole problems like wet weather, poor drainage and snakes, your training sessions will be safer, smoother, and more efficient.
