MODERN FIREARMS TRAINING AND SHOOTING RANGE DEVELOPMENT

Because Action Target strongly believes that up-to-date training and education are vital aspects of every job, we invite you and an additional member of your training staff to a special event called Modern Firearms Training and Shooting Range Development.

This seminar will examine the many challenges of today's firearms training requirements and shooting range management issues, and will present how modern shooting range equipment can help you meet those challenges safely, efficiently, and effectively. We will then move to the range on the second day for live-fire training designed to demonstrate and reinforce the concepts discussed in the classroom.

YOUR TRAINING EXPERIENCE WILL INCLUDE:

  • The Realities Of Today's Gunfights: We will review and analyze current law enforcement gunfight statistics, plus the physical and mental responses to combat stress. We will then determine how the results should shape your firearms training standards, practices, and policies.
  • Qualification vs. Training: Are there differences between the two? What are they? Learn why an understanding of these issues is so important, and why you don't have to settle for one or the other.
  • Legal and Financial Consequences of Inadequate Training: We will examine the court cases, decisions, and monetary awards that should shape your current training liability policy.
  • Shooting Range Design: We will discuss critical issues relating to the planning and construction of indoor and outdoor shooting ranges. This discussion is applicable to not only new range projects, but to current range upgrades and expansion as well.
  • Shooting Range Equipment: As a common thread woven through each of the topics listed above, we will discuss the following Action Target products.
    - Portable Targets- Powerful training on a budget
    - The Truth About Steel and Steel Targets - Learn to buy and use steel targets wisely
    - Reactive Steel - Train to shoot faster and more accurately
    - Moving Targets - Portable and permanent applications, with moving steel target options
    - Turning Targets - Many varieties, many uses
    - Shoothouses - Close quarter indoor combat training in a ballistically safe environment
    - The Truth About Bullet Traps - See examples of virtually every type of bullet trap ever used
    - Indoor Ranges - Stalls, baffles, retrievers, bullet traps, and ventilation
  • Putting It All Together: The second day will be spent on the range engaged in live-fire training based on the 12 critical elements of a modern firearms training program.
